Youth Prevention

Engaged, Educated, and Empowered Youth

Human Trafficking and Social Media Safety Presentation for Youth

We must equip our youth with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to stay safe in our world today. This one-hour presentation unpacks what human trafficking is and what students need to know to keep themselves and their friends safe. At PPOC, we believe an engaged, educated, and empowered youth is a safe youth. This presentation takes an empowering tone rather than a fear-based approach and is age-appropriate, research-based, trauma-informed, and survivor-informed. In this one-hour presentation, we cover the following:

  • What is human trafficking? It’s not just white vans.
  • What to look for? Warning signs and red flags for potential danger.
  • Why does it happen? How circumstances, life choices, and social media factor in.
  • Staying Safe: Healthy relationships & social media safety.
  • Getting Help: Who is a trusted person, and how to ask for help?
  • Making a Difference: How students can be part of the solution!

This presentation takes an interactive approach to teaching youth about Human Trafficking. We aren’t just talking at or to youth but with them. They’ll walk away with knowledge that will help keep themselves and their peers safe in today’s world.
